Beneath the Surface

Beneath the Surface opening on October 19, 2019 at Artspace Warehouse features artist Robert Lebsack.

The artist draws inspiration from new ways of thinking for future generations, reminding us of hopeful young dreamers and a paradigm shift away from conventional reasoning in thoughts and actions. He believes that social norms can be good, yet at the same time hold people back, stunting our growth individually and as a society.

Within each composition in this series, Lebsack creates beautifully rendered details pulled from nature and the human figure. Ink, acrylic, charcoal, archival copies of newspapers, and sheet music are all used to create this surreal body of work. Lebsack has been exhibited internationally, including in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Toronto, and Zurich, and has been collected by celebrities such as Ariel Winter, Christina Aguilera, and Matthew Rutler.
