Amadou Opa Bathily
Amadou Opa Bathily's art is a celebration of life's rhythm, a dynamic fusion of tradition and innovation. Bathily draws inspiration from the vibrant cultural landscape of Mali, where the most prevalent cultural activities revolve around music and dancing, reflecting the pulsating rhythms of life that find expression in his captivating artworks.He is an internationally collected artist who excelled at the National Institute of Arts (INA) and the Balla Fasséké Kouyaté Multimedia Arts and Crafts Conservatory (CAMM-BFK) in Bamako. His artistic journey began at Atelier Miria, where he developed a unique perspective on the use of innovative materials.
Bathily's layered works appear as though they have been meticulously interwoven with a rich palette of color fabrics and mesmerizing intricacies. They have been exhibited in numerous shows worldwide. He's an alumnus of the Kôrè-qualité II art development program and a winner of the National City Talent Competition in 2017, with a diverse portfolio spanning painting, sculpture, installation, and more. His debut museum exhibition in Morocco during 2023 stands as a critical juncture, propelling his art further onto the international art scene.
