About

Nebraka-based Jamie Burmeister is a sculptural artist known for his original artworks incorporating original small bronze figures, standing at just up to 4 inches tall. His unique figurative sculptural works have been showcased in galleries, museums, and public art installations worldwide, including notable venues like the Joslyn Art Museum and the Des Moines Art Center. Burmeister's work explores the human experience through humor and absurdity, with a recent focus on incorporating color, which he finds both challenging and inspiring. A recipient of multiple awards, including the 2016 Governor’s Art Awards Outstanding Artist, Burmeister earned his M.F.A. in Sculpture from the University of Nebraska in 2005.

The artist used blue acrylic paint and a bronze figure standing on a platform. This one-of-a-kind sculptural mixed-media painting on wood measures a total of 24 inches tall by 18 inches wide by 3 inches deep, including the depth and width of the sculptural figure and platform. The shelf is the same width as the wood panel. This artwork combines vivid color, dynamic movement, and sculptural elements to create a visually captivating and playful piece.

Adding a unique sculptural dimension, a small bronze figurative sculpture is thoughtfully secured to a shelf attached to the face of the panel. The bronze figure creates the narrative of this composition of a painter on a shelf holding a bucket of paint, working to complete an intricate mural consisting of varying sizes of paint dots. This miniature figure brings a playful narrative to the artwork, interacting with the painted surface and adding a tactile, three-dimensional quality.

Jamie Burmeister signed this original artwork on the back. The artwork is wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted as a continuation of the front and it does not need framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and International shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.

Burmeister's artistic journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of innovation and engagement with diverse audiences. His practice transcends conventional boundaries, as he often incorporates elements of street art and public installation, fostering an interactive experience that invites participation and reflection. The use of humor in his work acts as a catalyst for deeper engagement, allowing viewers to confront uncomfortable themes with a sense of levity. In addition to his gallery exhibitions, his commitment to community-oriented projects demonstrates a keen understanding of art’s potential to transform public spaces. His extensive exhibition history and numerous accolades, including multiple honors from the Nebraska Arts Council, highlight his significant contribution to the contemporary art landscape, positioning him as a vital voice in the discourse surrounding original sculptural art.
