Katharina Husslein, hailing from Wertheim, Germany, spent her formative years in a picturesque village, surrounded by lush hills and meandering rivers. Her art draws inspiration from the works of old masters and the immersive beauty of the Black Forest, shaping her representational style that breathes life into vibrant bouquets and rich landscapes. In her quest to expand her artistic horizons, she ventured beyond Germany to pursue art studies in London, UK. As part of her educational journey, she resided in diverse locales, including Los Angeles, New York, and Australia.
Within her impressionist landscape paintings, her
experiences abroad truly come to light. These textural and abstract paintings
perfectly capture the vibrancy and movement included in a coastal sunset. This
series differs from Husslein’s more controlled and smoother still-life floral
series which derives a more direct inspiration from art history and flower
photography.
“I create paintings that
capture the joy of the moment in time where everything seems quietly perfect
and the flowers are in full bloom. A metaphor as old as time, to seize the
moment and enjoy it to its fullest extent.”
Now based in Munich,
Germany, Husslein has exhibited her artworks across Europe, gaining collectors
internationally.
