Jodi Fuchs' artistic canvas extends from painting movie and music video sets (including 'Barton Fink' and 'Red Hot Chili Peppers') to the homes of notable celebrities (Candice Bergen, Lily Tomlin, Bette Midler, Burt Bacharach, Patricia Arquette), and even luxurious spa and resort properties (such as The Lodge at Vail and The Lodge at Pebble Beach). Her profound expertise in color and pattern developed on the job while she worked as a decorative painter for over two decades in Los Angeles. Born in 1964 in New York, Jodi Fuchs is an award-winning contemporary abstract painter who now resides in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Fuchs now focuses on creating modern abstract expressionistic
pieces that have an undeniable energy. Her medium is acrylic on canvas or panel
and she often uses spray paint, ink, and oil stick to enhance the work. It
is Fuchs’ fascination with the pure creative force: understanding it,
harnessing it, and expressing it, that fuels her painting process. Years of
inquiry into the metaphysical aspects of life have influenced her studio
practice. This is where the act of creation is the muse. By following intuitive
impulses, Fuchs creates work that speaks to the chaos and stillness
(and the reconciliation of these two forces) that are inherent in the human
experience.
Fuchs’ work has been featured on 50+ TV and
film productions and graced the lobbies of hotels from New York to Miami to
Portland Oregon. In 2010 she won an art contest and in 2017 she was awarded a grant to share her art on one
hundred thousand wine labels by Georges Duboeuf. Most recently, 13 of her
images were scaled up to 4’ x 8’ for a remodeled resort property in
Miami.
